| Nemaha County Co-op This locally producer owned Full Service Co-op was established in March of 1936. The main office is located on the east side of town in Seneca, KS. After 73 years of service we are proud to have facilities serving locations in Baileyville, Corning, Centralia, Vliets, and Lillis. In addition we have a Mr. Tire service center in downtown Seneca that provides tires, oil changes and minor car repair. Products and services we offer include ag chemicals, petroleum products, propane, fertilizer, seed, feed, and grain storage. Our mission is to be a leader in providing superior products and customer service to our customers which in turn enhances their farming operations and profitability. We continue to update equipment and facilities to serve our customer. This summer we are building a new Tire Service Center on Baltimore Street next to the Gun Club which will replace the existing one located on main street. We are also building a new 500,000 bushel grain facility in Vliets to serve customers in our south trade area. Key management office personnel are very important to our co-op business, each having served over 25-30 plus years in the cooperative system, Charles-Manager, Mark-Assistant Manager, Sharon-Office Manager, Brian-Operations, and several key staff and location managers. We currently have 52 dedicated full time employees plus several part time employees some of which are retired coop employees. We appreciate their willingness to work and expertise when the need arrises. The goal of our structure is to have management and employees working together as a team to serve our members to the best of our ability. As a cooperative, the profits of the company are utilized in purchasing equipment or to provide services for our customers. In many cases profits are returned as equity payment in cash or placed in the member allocated equity position for distribution to the member at a later date. In 2010 $1,291,000 will be returned in cash or allocated equities to our members. This followed the record $2,500,000 that was returned to our members in 2009. The financial position of this cooperative is very good which is reflective of our business model of helping our farmers succeed. We thank our members and the communities we serve for supporting the local business they already own. Charles Gabehart – General Manager |
